"Mr. Frenchie"

A friend of mine came up with the name "Frenchie" for this plush toy.

I drafted the pattern for this one based on an image from Rachel Denbow's flickr page.

The Frenchie shirt is made from mattress ticking. The face is unbleached muslin. I'm pretty sure I used muslin for the hat and pants as well.

I hand sewed the doll with hand quilting thread and stuffed it with polyester.  The embroidery is done with perle cotton thread.

Beekeeper's quilt

In progress: a "beekeeper's quilt" of 168 six-sided knitted pieces known as "hexipuffs".

tiny owl press designed the pattern.

I've used superwash sock yarn, polyester filling, and three double pointed knitting needles.

Billy

This is a watercolor and dip pen drawing of a whimsical little sauce holder (like for picnics, I guess) that my friend Jackie brought me back from Brazil.

Sloan, my boyfriend, named it Billy after the singing fish called "billy the bass" they sell at bass pro shops.  Those silly wall mounted fish sing "take me to the river" and some other song. I had never heard of those but that is how my drawing "billy" came to be.

I found this vintage frame in a thrift store. I like how it goes with the yellow in the drawing.
